News From Revere Beach Partnership
The Revere Beach Farmer’s Market, in partnership with MGH Revere and Revere Cares will be holding a series of workshops on healthy eating with a limited budget.
The workshops will show participants how to prepare meals that are healthy and taste great! They will explore and explain basic nutrition that will enable your family to move towards a healthier life style!
There will be cooking demonstrations, free prizes and give aways, and coupons for the Farmer’s Market.
Child care will be available at all workshops free of charge!
The times and locations of the workshops are as follows:
June 16th Garfield Middle School from 6-8 pm
June 23rd Revere High School from 6-8 pm
June 29th Garfield Middle School from 6-8 pm
The first two workshops will be identical and will be run by Registered Dietitian Jennie Galpern. They will include information on portion sizes, balanced meals, and how to read a nutrition facts label.
The final workshop held on June 29th will be different from the first two, and run by Registered Nurse Eileen Simpson. This workshop will be about reading nutrition facts labels, cooking methods, healthy food substitutions, and how to add fiber and protein to our diets.
Like all our events, the workshops are free of charge! This is a great educational experience that you won’t want to miss!
